Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about listing with FlatFee.
Is this the MLS agents use?
Yes — the same local MLS every brokerage uses, syndicated to Zillow, Realtor.com, Redfin and more.
Does FlatFee charge fees at closing?
No. The flat fee is paid up front. There is no listing commission and $0 due to FlatFee at closing.
Will agents show my home?
Buyer agents can see your listing on the MLS and request showings, the same as any other listing. Showing management is included.
What does the buyer’s agent get paid?
Since August 2024, commissions are no longer shown to buyer agents on the MLS. Buyers now pay their own agents, so anything you choose to offer a buyer’s agent is a separate decision between you and the buyer.
Is it really 100% online?
Yes. You enter your home info, upload photos, e-sign and pay online, then manage open houses and listing changes from your account.
How long does it take to go live?
Allow 1 business day for your listing to appear on the MLS; less than 24 hours is typical. It may take longer to appear on other websites.
What if I want help with the listing?
Choose a listing-help tier: Review ($99) or Full Service ($299), where our staff puts the listing together for you. MLS listing fees are additional and vary by MLS.
Do you list homes outside Illinois?
No. FlatFee serves Illinois home sellers only.
